The Loyola of Los Angeles Entertainment Law Review (ELR) is published three times per year. Dedicated to advancing a scholarly dialogue between the legal community and the entertainment industry, we invite article submissions exploring issues relating to entertainment, sports, communications, and intellectual property law.
ELR welcomes submissions from judges, academics, and practicing attorneys. We also accept submissions from current law students, but preference is given to non-student authors. Because ELR is committed to publishing the best legal scholarship, law students should not be discouraged from article submission.
ELR strongly prefers submissions of 25,000 words or fewer, including text and footnotes. We believe that the vast majority of law review articles can convey their arguments effectively within the specified limit. However, this is not an absolute cap on article length, and all submissions, regardless of length, will receive a nondiscriminatory review. Citations in manuscripts should appear in footnotes and follow The Bluebook (20th ed. 2015) (The Bluebook: A Uniform System of Citation (Columbia Law Review Ass’n et al. eds., 20th ed. 2015)).
